Simply recording what you have done is not evaluation. It is documentation. Planning a project, documenting its progress, measuring progress against the plan, weighing the worth of the outcome, measuring the process against the method and adopting the lessons learned for the future. That is evaluation.


Public liability insurance is obtained by organisations and individuals to cover the risk of a claim for damages by someone who is injured as a result of the actions or negligence of the insured. It is essential for any event being organised.


The reality of contemporary Australia is that it is home to a range of communities and this diversity will both continue and increase. While every community is culturally diverse, the focus of this paper addresses the needs of people from non-English speaking backgrounds.


CCD Workers can be self-employed, work for arts and or cultural organisations, local government and other public sector bodies and the private sector. They are organisers and may be artists themselves. Their reward includes benefiting the communities with and within which they work.


Artists and artsworkers involved in community cultural development activities need to be skilled and adaptable. Not every artist is equipped for this specialised area. In addition to the artform expertise required, they need to be aware of social issues and to be sensitive to the needs of the many different people they will work with.
